Piuma

The holes are a map. The perforation pattern encodes the urban grid of Vercelli — a city, flattened, abstracted, punched through a sheet of material, made to hold pencils. The spaces between streets become the spaces between holes. The object performs two acts simultaneously and announces neither. It organizes. It commemorates.

Sold at the bookshop of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection during the Arca exhibition, Vercelli.
